Genesis Invitational betting tips: Who to back each-way

Tony Finau (28/1 with bet365seems to be the man everyone is pulling for on the PGA Tour at the moment as this song demonstrates. And I’m hoping that fired up by his near-miss in Phoenix the American can go close again.

Finau looked to be cruising to victory on the back nine at the Phoenix Open before Webb Simpson reeled him in with a pair of closing birdies before beating him in a play-off.

He will have taken the many positives from the situation in terms of the fact that in no way did he lose the tournament, Simpson won it.

Finau now has three top 10s in his last four starts and Riviera is a course where he has produced some good stuff in the past two seasons. He finished runner-up in 2018 and finished in a tie for 15th last year.

Marc Leishman (40/1is an interesting selection this week at a handsome price. He’s coming into the Genesis on the back of a highly impressive win at the Farmers Insurance Open and has taken a few weeks off since then.

His form at this event is a bit patchy but his current consistent game could serve him well. He’s finished in the top five twice in the last four years including a tied 4th last season.

The Australian is currently third in the Strokes Gained Approach statistics for the season and this should serve him well here.
