Daan Huizing from the Netherlands was two strokes clear of Meghan MacLaren and Paul Streeter after nine holes on the second morning at the Jordan Mixed Open presented by Ayla.
The two-time European Challenge Tour tournament winner from Zwolle was three clear of the field after opening with a pair of birdies, but dropped a shot on the par-5 ninth hole to make the turn in one-under in a stiffening breeze at Ayla Golf Club in the Red Sea resort town of Aqaba.
Staysure Tour member Paul Streeter from Lincoln, England, who is playing in the same group as Huizing and Beth Allen, also made the turn in 35 after birdies at the first and eighth holes and a bogey on the seventh.
Ladies European Tour member Meghan MacLaren from England, who was one back overnight, starts her second round from the 10th hole at 12.44pm local time.
Of the other LET members in the mix, the 2018 Rookie of the Year, Julia Engstrom was at four-under-par after six holes this morning. The 18-year-old Swede birdied the 11th, bogeyed the 12th and birdied the 13th.
South African Stacy Lee Bregman and Swede Camilla Lennarth, who are also on four-under-par, will start their second rounds at 1.17pm and 1.28pm respectively. Isabelle Boineau from France was one-under-par for her back nine this morning and at three-under-par in total, alongside Marianne Skarpnord from Norway, the Australian Ladies Classic champion, who starts her second round at 12.55pm local time.
